Factors Affecting The Husky Price in India

1. Availability-

Siberian Huskies are a rare breed in India, and the availability of a breeder can directly influence the price of the puppy. The rarity of the breed means that demand often outstrips supply, resulting in prices being higher than the average.

2. Age-

The age of the puppy is one of the major factors that affect the Siberian Husky price in India. Generally, puppies under 8 weeks of age are more expensive than older puppies.

3. Pedigree-

The pedigree of the puppy can also affect the price of the Siberian Husky. Puppies with good bloodlines will generally cost more than those without.

4. Health-

The health of the puppy is an important factor to consider when looking at the price of a Siberian Husky. Puppies with health problems such as hip dysplasia or other genetic conditions may cost more to treat and can result in a higher price tag.

5. Size-

The size of the puppy is also a major factor in determining price. Larger puppies, such as males, may cost more than smaller puppies, such as females.

6. Coat Color-

The coat colour of the Siberian Husky can also influence the price. Generally, puppies with unique coat colours, such as white and black, may cost more than those with more common colours.

7. Location-

The location of the breeder can also affect the price of the Siberian Husky. Generally, puppies bought from a breeder in a major city will cost more than those from a rural area.

Husky Maintenance Cost in India

When we talk about monthly expenses the main cost you have to spend is food. A Siberian Husky can eat 20 kg of dog food a month. If providing standard quality dog food, then it would cost you around 3,000-3500 Rs per month. And premium quality dog food would cost you approx 6,000-7,000 Rs per month.

The cost of vaccination for a husky puppy can range between 800-1,500 Rs per month.

Deworming medicines are not that costly, it would cost you 100-300 Rs per schedule.

To Groom, a Husky is not child’s play. You can spend 1,000-2,000 Rs on Grooming which will include shampoos, brushes, nail clippers/grinders, and also your efforts too.

On average, the total monthly expense of owning a Siberian Husky in India will be 5,000 Rs with standard quality food & 9,000, Rs with premium quality food

Leash, collars, bowls, toys, clothes, etc are not something you would buy every month, so I didn’t include their cost here.

There’s also a big one-time cost: If you don’t want your Siberian Husky to have puppies or get into the heat (either male or female), then your dog has to go for a Spay or Neuter Surgery. This surgery will cost you around 5,000-12,000 Rs (depending on the place you live).

About the Siberian Husky Dog breed

History and Origin-

Siberian Huskies are actually one of the oldest dog breeds, dating back over 40,000 years ago it all started in Siberia with the Chukchi people. The Chukchi were a group of Eskimos that lived in Siberia. They used them for all sorts of things, but mostly pulling sledges and getting things to and from different places and they also used them to watch over their children.

In fact, they loved them so much that they believed that when they went to heaven, they were actually judged by two gigantic huskies. And if you ever were mean to a husky or you mistreated a husky, you wouldn’t be accepted into heaven. This was something that the Chukchi people believed in. So it goes without saying that these dogs were really to these people. Unfortunately, in the 1700s with the rise of Russia, the Chukchi was pushed north and were eventually wiped out by the Russians. They tried to move as north into the cold as they could, but eventually, the Russians took them over, demanding their land and killing off all the rest of them. Now, luckily, a lot of the breed, the Siberian husky, made it to North America during this time. When the Siberian huskies made it to America, they blew up in popularity. They were commonly used in racing, seeing how fast sledders could go by using teams of Siberian huskies to travel.

But in early 1900, Siberian huskies would leave their mark on the United States becoming one of the biggest heroes in the country in nome Alaska. In the early 1900s, there was a horrible case of a diphtheria outbreak in Nome Alaska. Now, several teams of dog racers and people had to get medicine to nome Alaska quickly. Two of the leading dogs Togo and Balto covered over 1,000 km and led the people to provide medicine in Nome Alaska which saves hundreds of lives. Now, to this very day, there are statues, and monuments dedicated to Balto and Togo (Siberian huskies) for going all that way, facing the fierce weather and all of the odds against them to this day.

Appearance-

Siberian Huskies are a medium size dog breed. They do have a wolf-like look to them. They have small straight ears with almond shapes eyes which can be blue or brown in colour or one eye may be blue while the other can be brown in colour. They have soft fluffy fur with a dense undercoat and fluffy tail. They are available in various colours like grey and white, black and tan, silver and grey, red and white, sable and white (rare), white(rare)  etc.

Temperament/Behaviour-

Huskies are very energetic, well-tempered and always ready to play. They are social dogs and love to be with their owner. They can turn out to be great dogs for people with an active lifestyle as these dogs are very active and need exercise.

Trainability-

These dogs are one of the smartest dogs and are free-willed due to which they are quite stubborn which makes them slightly difficult to train.  In order to train these dogs repetition, consistency and patience is the key.

Relationship with other pets-

Huskies can get along with other dogs and can also get along with cats and other small pets but they should be socialised early. And make sure to keep the small pets under supervision when they are with huskies.

Health Problems-

Huskies are a type of dog that is known for being relatively healthy compared to other breeds. However, there are still some health problems that can affect them.

The most common health problem in Huskies is hip dysplasia. This is a condition where the hip joint doesn’t develop properly, and it can be painful for the dog. It’s important to get your Husky checked by a vet if you think they might have this condition.

Other health problems that can affect Huskies include eye problems, allergies, and gastrointestinal issues, so it’s important to keep an eye on their food intake and make sure they get enough exercise.

If you’re thinking about getting a Husky, or you already have one, it’s important to be aware of these potential health problems. By knowing about them, you can be more prepared to deal with them if they do occur.

Tips for Husky Owners!!

Siberian Husky Price in India

1. Always keep your Siberian husky exercised-

Exercising Siberian huskies can prevent them from getting into trouble because it makes them tired and gets their mind off of tearing things apart or destroying furniture. Also, it’s way easier to train your husky whenever they’re exercised. If you’re trying to train your husky and it seems like they can’t focus on you and they’re running a million miles per hour, go outside, exercise them for just a little bit, and you’re going to see a big difference in the effectiveness of your training.

2. Comb Your Husky-

Comb them a couple of times a week. Whenever you comb your Siberian husky on a regular basis, it prevents something called clumping, and that’s when their hair gets matted because it’s just getting stuck on their body and not falling out. And if you do not comb them on a regular basis be ready to get your house covered by their fluffy fur.

3. Always Stick to a Schedule-

Make sure that you adhere and stick to strict schedules. Siberian huskies love schedules, and it makes things a whole lot easier whenever you stick to them. Siberian Huskies are creatures of routine, so if you do something often and on schedule, they’re going to learn it twice as fast. So for people who are having problems training their dogs to do something, like going out to the potty, if you take them out at the exact same time every single day and you stick to a schedule, your Siberian husky is going to learn how to do that twice as quickly. And you can apply this to anything, whether it be eating or cage training.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you’re doing it on a schedule. With your huskies. It’ll make them happier, and you’ll get better training results out of it.

4. Get some paw butter or coconut oil-

If you have a Siberian husky that goes on walks all of the time or lives in dry climates, you might want to check on its paws. Whenever you look at a Siberian husky’s paw, you can see marks on them where it looks extremely dry.

Now, you can apply this paw butter on the dry area of the feet. within 24 hours, you will see that all the dry spots in their paws are completely healed. Most of the paw butter is edible. So if your dog accidentally licks their paw after you apply it, it’s completely fine.

5. Clean the dog bowls-

one thing you do, no matter if you have a Siberian husky or just any dog, is feed them on a daily basis. Something that we forget to do regularly is to take our dog’s bowls and wash them. Dog bowls get just as dirty as people’s plates, so make sure that you clean them regularly. If you don’t, dog bowls can build up all sorts of really gross bacteria, which may end up making your dog sick.

6. Keep the dangerous food away-

It’s really important to make sure that if you are going to get a Siberian husky if you’re going to be an owner of one of these Arctic fluff heads, you gotta keep certain foods out of their reach. A couple of infamous foods that are very toxic to Siberian huskies include chocolate, grapes, and raisins. So, make sure you don’t have chocolate or grapes or raisins or anything toxic simply lying around in your kitchen so that your huskies can just jump up on the counter and grab it.

7. Open a Pet saving account-

While pet insurance is a great option for some people my advice to you would be to just open up a savings account for your lovely pets.  if you put away like 1000 rs every single month or even 500 rs every single month after a few months, you’re gonna have a few thousand rupees saved up and that’ll pretty much cover most vet visits now it’s true it won’t cover something major. but starting a savings account for your animal or your doggo is such a good idea because it’s just in case something happens and you’ll just have that money just in case.

8. Love them as much as you can-

love them as much as you can that’s my biggest tip for you guys Siberian Huskies only live a few years 10 to 14 max so they don’t live the most extended lives in the world. So,  make sure that every single second spent with them is the most magical the amazing second ever so whenever you have the time to spend with your Siberian Huskies whenever you have a moment to sit down with your best friend make sure you scratch them on the head and show them your love and affection towards them.

The memories you make now are the best thing in the entire world so make as many of them as you can.
