Cage –

The cage for a ferret should be at least  24″ x 24″ x 18″ high in size. But if you can have a bigger cage than this it will be ideal as they need space to roam. So, remember the bigger the better for your ferret.

Do not place the cage in a tight closed room. Instead place it in a well-ventilated room and do not place the cage directly under the sunlight.

They are strictly carnivores and they need high-protein diets. You can give them chicken, lamb, beef, mice, etc. Can give them kitten food whose primary ingredient must be meat. And do not feed them fibrous food that is plants and fruits. They are not capable of digesting plant-based food.

Ferret is slightly smelly naturally as they have scent glands. Do not bathe them every week or so as their skin will get dry and it will produce more oil which can make them more smelly. Instead, you can bathe them once every 2 or 3 months you can use kitten shampoo and conditioners for bathing your ferret.  And lastly, if you don’t want your house to be smelly make sure to clean its enclosure regularly.

While handling or picking them up make sure to place your one hand on their belly-chest area and support the behind legs with your other hand this is the best way to handle them.
