Things You Must Know Before Getting a Cane Corso Puppy

Don’t over-exercise your puppy-

Giant breed dogs in general grow very fast. Because they grow so fast, it puts a lot of strain on their joints. So, it is important to really monitor their play. Make sure not to overexercise them. Ensure that they are not jumping from a height (like from furniture or vehicle, etc.). Do not force them to run, and do not take them for long-distance walks or hiking a 5-10 min walk twice a day is more than enough for your pup. They shouldn’t be walking up and down stairs instead pick them up

if you’re over-exercising a growing puppy, it can lead to joint issues. It can permanently disfigure them. And we don’t want any of that. But once they are 1.5 to 2 years old there is no restriction on any kind of exercise as their skeletal system is completely developed.

Expect them to Growth fast but they must be monitored-

They grow very fast, but we don’t want them to grow too fast. Growing too fast again can lead to joint issues leading to disfigurement. So really monitor your dog’s weight. You can feed them raw food or  If you’re going with kibble, make sure you find high-quality kibble. And that being said, control how much you are feeding your dog. Don’t let them free eat. Don’t give them tons of treats all day long. Feed an Adult cane Corso two times a day one in the morning and another in the evening while Puppies have to be fed 3-4 times a day.

Cane Corso Puppies go through multiple fear Stages-

Cane Corsos goes through a couple of fear stages in life. For. e.g. one day, let’s say they’re not scared of the vacuum cleaner. The next day, the vacuum cleaner is the most terrifying thing in the world to them. Don’t cuddle their fear.

Don’t teach them to be scared. And by that I mean, let’s say your puppy is scared of the vacuum cleaner or anything. Don’t cuddle him or her. Don’t tell him it’s okay in a calming voice. Essentially, by doing that, you’re teaching the dog that it’s okay to be scared. If your cane Corso suddenly develops a fear of something. Instead of cuddling them, you should ignore the situation and pretend like everything is normal.

If the dog seems overwhelmed, remove him or her from the situation. Be patient and slowly familiarise them with things they are feared of. But never, ever cuddle their fear. Never do that, because it will be almost impossible to get rid of that fear in the dog once they get older.

They are not happiest when you leave them alone but as soon as you come they will be very happy and will act like they have not seen you for years. These dogs are just so loving, and I can’t even explain it.  So you have to be very accepting of them, wanting to love you and be loved back. You are your dog’s life. It’s all he has.
